Fun Grocery Store Finds
One thing I love to do when traveling is visit the local grocery stores and markets. Browsing the aisles and vendors can provide a lot of insight and sparks curiosity about the culture. It's also just fun to discover new products or versions of foods you've never seen before!
In this edition, we'll highlight a few fun finds from a grocery store in the suburbs of Oaxaca, Mexico. The store itself was pretty big and reminded us of a blend of Target, Walmart and Costco, all in one. They had electronics, clothing, household goods, and of course food. There are endless unique and delicious products you can find, and this is just a small sampling. If there is something you want me to search for and showcase on the blog, let me know in the comments.
Tiny things!
I couldn't resist this little storage unit (maybe for jewelry?), and the single serving boxed cappuccino with straw.

Fun Flavors (& special labeling):
Lemon pie Oreos, and chocolate covered gummy bears! Notice how the Health Secretary helpfully informs you that this product is extremely unhealthy for you, containing excess calories, sugar, saturated fats, and sodium, etc.

Tea: So much herbal tea, but no black tea...I guess they prefer to get their caffeine strictly from coffee, which makes sense in this region of the world.
Lactose Free Products! Where are my lactose intolerant buddies at?? Not only do they carry extensive amounts of regular lactose free milk, but you can also find lactose free chocolate ice cream flavored milk and pre-made latte and mocha mixes. As a lactose intolerant person for the past 20 years, I'm very excited to try the chocolate milk, which is currently in our fridge. Viva la "deslactosada"!
